HEREFORDSHIRE – GOD’S WORLD THROUGH YOUR EYES
A photography competition celebrating the beauty, character and creativity of Herefordshire. We’re inviting you to see the county through your eyes — from landscapes and landmarks to wildlife, buildings and the small details that make Herefordshire special.
Whether you’re an experienced photographer or simply enjoy taking photographs on your phone, we’d love to see what catches your eye. Selected photographs will feature in the SPSJ Hereford 2027 Calendar and may be used as part of our Ukrainian Arts Festival 2027.

What Can I Photograph?
We welcome photographs featuring:
Landscapes & Countryside
Fields, rivers, woods, gardens, views and the Herefordshire landscape.
Buildings & Landmarks
Historic buildings, churches, bridges, monuments and distinctive local places.
Nature & Wildlife
Plants, flowers, trees, birds, animals and the natural world around us.
Objects, Details & Unusual Views
Interesting details, everyday objects, textures, patterns or a unique perspective on somewhere familiar.
How Do I Enter?
✓ Take a photograph in Herefordshire.
✓ Send your photograph(s) to festival@spsj.org.uk.
✓ Please include the location where each photograph was taken.
✓ You can enter photographs taken with a camera or mobile phone.
✓ Please do not submit photographs featuring identifiable people.
Closing date: 20 November 2026
There is no entry fee and you don’t need to be a professional photographer to take part.
Each person may submit up to 3 photographs. Each photograph must be the entrant’s own work and meet the competition requirements.
What Happens to My Photo?
Selected photographs will appear in the SPSJ Hereford 2027 Calendar, with copies given to competition participants and selected photographers.
By submitting a photograph, you retain your copyright but give SPSJ permission to use, reproduce and publish the photograph for the competition, calendar, Ukrainian Arts Festival 2027 and related SPSJ promotional purposes, including print, website and social media.
✓ Photographers will be credited where reasonably practical.
✓ Photographs may be cropped or resized for publication.
✓ By submitting your photograph, you confirm that you have the right to submit it and agree to these terms.

Open to amateur and professional photographers. By entering, you confirm that you took the photograph and have permission to submit it.

Each photographer may submit up to three photographs. Only the first three photographs received from each photographer will be accepted.

Please include the location (town/village and, where possible, the specific location) when submitting each photograph.

No identifiable people should appear in submitted photographs.

Photographers retain copyright of their images. By submitting a photograph, you give SPSJ permission to use, reproduce and publish the image without charge for the competition, SPSJ Hereford 2027 Calendar, Ukrainian Arts Festival 2027, and related SPSJ promotional purposes, including print, website and social media.

Permission applies to photographs once submitted and selected photographs may be cropped or resized where necessary for publication.
