House Groups

SPSJ boasts a number of Home Groups. Home Groups generally consist of around 12-15 people who meet either weekly or fortnightly in the homes of Church members,  giving individuals an opportunity to worship, learn from the Bible and pray together. They also have occasional social events. Home groups provide a place to get to know people and to receive care, support and encouragement from others in our church.

Renew Create

We meet on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 10am - 12noon in the church.

Join us for a morning to be creative or to just sit, chat and get to know others from the community.

Bring your own materials (knitting, drawing, matchmaking etc), learn from others, or get creative with the recycled materials on offer.

An ideal place to meet your neighbours and make new friends while being creative.

This takes place at St James' Church

The shelter runs from December to March, taking up to 16 men and 3 women each night, from 9pm until 8am the following morning. It offers a safe alternative to rough sleeping, where we encourage the men and women to engage with other services, to help them move on. Accommodation is simple;-camp beds and sleeping bags with hot drinks.

Paid overnight staff  are assisted by morning and evening volunteers many of whom are members of our church family.
