Here are the midweek worship opportunities in St Peter’s, St James’ and St Giles.
Tuesday 8:00 am – 8.30am: Morning Prayer (St Peter’s)
A short reflective worship with the opportunity to pray for the week ahead.
Wednesday 11.30 am – 12.00 noon: Holy Communion (St Giles Chapel, St Owen’s Street)
A quiet, reflective Book of Common Prayer Communion service
This is followed at 12noon, for those who wish to stay for a cup of coffee, by a forum to discuss any topic suggested by the participants – we call it “Life, the Universe and Anything!”
Thursday 4.30pm – 5.00pm (St James’): Evening Prayer
Prayers, bible readings and quiet
Friday 2.30pm (St Giles’ Chapel or Brierley Court Community Room)
A mixture of worship styles, including Holy Communion, with time for fellowship and reflection. Each month the services are as follows (with some exceptions for special occasions):
- 1st Friday Holy Communion in St Giles;
- 2nd Friday Evening Worship in St Giles
- 3rd Friday Songs of Praise in Brierley Court;
- 4th Friday Evening Worship in St Giles
- 5th Friday Evening Worship in St Giles.
St Giles’ Chapel is a delightful gem, on St Owen’s Street, and was built to replace the original Knights Templar chapel on the site. Brierley Court is the sheltered housing project on the same site.
